 Cabbi Black
Child Development Center Director

Cabbi was born in Upland, California in May of 1975. She was raised by two wonderful Christian parents who taught her to love the Lord. Cabbi has two older brothers and they loved hanging out together as a family. When Cabbi was 7 years old her family moved to El Paso, Texas. Starting a new school, she found a lot of really good friends.  Raised Assembly of God, Cabbi started attending Grace Baptist Church because she was invited by one of her friends.  She feel in love with the AWANA's program and before long, her family joined.

After Cabbi graduated from high school, she attended The University of Texas at El Paso (UTEP) pursuing a degree in History and Political Science. After marrying and moving to Seattle, Washington, Cabbi decided to go back to school and attended the University of Phoenix earning a degree in Health and Human Services.  At first she was really excited to be a case worker and help people who were in need, then just believed her calling was to be around children as she had one of her own.

Cabbi has worked in many different daycare and preschool environments and loves to work with children. She has two wonderful kids of her own; Riley (19) who is a sophomore at Georgia Southern and Peyton (15) who is a sophomore a Columbus High and plays baseball. The Lord has blessed Cabbi and her family in so many ways and she is so thankful to Him. She will marry Chris Evans November 10, 2018 and gain 2 step-daughters, Payton Evans (15) and Katie Jo Evans (13). Cabbi has enjoyed being a part of the Lakewood family and the CDC ministry.
