WHO WE ARE
The Amen Choi
r is a combined choir of Seniors from this area of Alabama and Georgia who are 50 years old or older. Eighty percent are Lakewood members, but all adults over 50 are greatly encouraged to join. This group meets to rehearse every Monday morning at 10:30 in the Sanctuary and works hard on their music until 12 noon. They memorize a great deal of their selections which allows them to sing in places when they are asked at the last minute: restaurants, airports and even shopping centers.
The Amen Choir enjoys a great deal of 
traveling. They have be asked to lead
several Senior Adult Revivals, Senior
Adult Conferences, as well participate in
Music Festivals annually. They began
traveling around 1995 when they were
asked to go to Spain by the International Missions Board to sing in Senior Adult retirement homes. Soon, they were traveling throughout FL, TN, KY, PA, NY, NH, VT, RI, ME, MS, LA, GA, SC and MO.
There are over 70 on the Amen Choir roll with an average of 50 at most rehearsals. They all look forward to these Mondays as a highlight of their week when they gather together and sing unto the Lord they serve.
